Aurora, OH: Network Technologies Inc today announced the addition of the Low-Cost 8-Port HDMI Splitter/Extender via CAT6 to its popular line of Video Splitters. The unit simultaneously distributes video and audio signals from an HDMI source to up to eight HDMI displays located up to 130 feet using CAT6 cable.
The Low-Cost 8-Port HDMI Splitter/Extender consists of two components: the VOPEX-C6HD-8LC HDMI broadcast unit, which connects to the host video source, and a ST-C6HD-R-130LC remote unit for each remote display, which can each be located up to 130 feet away using a single CAT6 UTP cable. The Splitter/Extender supports HDTV resolutions to 1080p and computer resolutions to 1920x1200, and is compliant with HDMI and HDCP 1.1 standards.
The unit offers two selectable EDID options, which can either detect pass-through EDID from the first HDMI display, or an available built-in EDID resolution can be selected. Users can also select between 8-bit or 12-bit color, which respectively extend the remote unit to 130 feet and 50 feet. HDMI features supported include: 8- and 12-bit Deep Color; x.v.Color; bandwidth up to 225 MHz (6.75 Gbps); LPCM 7.1 Channel, Dolby TrueHD, Dolby Digital Plus, and DTS-HD Master Audio (Sample rate: 32-192kHz); 3G (includes LED indicator when broadcasting 3D media); and support for CEC (consumer electronic control) compatible devices.
The VOPEX-C6HD-8LC local unit has dimensions of 9.45x4.05x0.98 inches and the ST-C6HD-R-130LC remote unit is 2.97x2.17x0.91 inches for convenient configurations. CAT6 UTP solid 23AWG 550MHz or better cable with TIA/EIA-568B wiring, terminated with standard RJ45 connectors is recommended for 1080p applications.
Available for immediate sale, the VOPEX-C6HD-8LC local unit costs $585 and the ST-C6HD-R-130LC remote unit costs $100.
